About four years ago I was "snooping" around on Thanksgiving Day just waiting for the food to be ready. While I was looking I found an old slightly beat up folder. On the outside it was labeled "Stories and Poems." This caught my attention and I looked through it and inside I found the story of Zelmo typed on the clear onion paper that was sometimes used with typewriters.

I loved the story so much I decided that I would get a hold of a friend of mine by the name of Pibby. Years before I had the privilege to see a lot of his artwork. I loved his drawing and thought that he had talent and hoped he would draw this book for me. He said that he would love to so we set out to create Zelmo.

Not many people know but the "original" design for Zelmo is all over the book. Yep, the zebra over the words was the original. After that we decided that we wanted a more "Realistic" looking zebra and after that.. as they say, the rest is history!
